Cleaning Out My Closet Item 9 Cleaning out My Closet, Clothes
I’m sorry about the delay in announcing the winner here; I had this little redesign thing I was working on. I have some more closet items to share with you this week.
#2160 Josey, contact prizes@thepioneerwoman.com to claim your cute, vintage shirt!
I’m still cleaning out the ol’ closet. Soon I’ll be down to a pair of too-tight jeans and an ax to grind.
Here’s Item #9!
How it Works: If you’re interested in this closet item (or any closet item I post this week), just say so in the Comments section of this post. I’ll randomly select a commenter, then announce it right before I launch the next item. I’ll wrap up and send each item the same day. And my closet will smile a little wider each time!
What: Elle Tahari linen/lace top
Size: 10
Color: Flax/Natural
Details: Linen top with lace and silk detailing; ruffle down the front; drawstring drop-waist, short, pouf sleeves
Worn: Never (wrinkles are from my trying it on—very wrinkly!)
Cute Factor: 8.5
I bought this top a few years ago—I think around 2005 or so. I loved it then, and I love it now.
Don’t let the fact that I’ve never once worn it throw you.
To say this is everything I love in an article of clothing is an understatement. It’s romantic, feminine, lovely…and can be worn with jeans, which is a requirement whenever I shop for tops.
Jeans are my life.
What I love most about this top is the silk ruffle detail the runs down the front of the top. Gorgeous! I love the antique/vintage look.
So here’s the skinny: everything about this top is right. The fabric, the longer style (I’m not big on short tops; I like them to hit my lower hips), the ruffles, the femininity. But the sleeves? They’ve just always been a little short and a little gathered. Also, while I would not describe myself as overly buxom (or buxom at all), I am endowed enough that there’s always been a little bit of a pull with the buttons across the middle of my BOSOM. I kept waiting for this to get better, but I would have had to lose ten pounds…and that’s always been too much of a buzzkill for me.
Someone needs this top. It’s a cute one.
Lemme know if you’re interested!
(Sorry I said buxom and bosom in the same post.)
